2016 product feature : SILVIA Series with Design Notes Part 1

SILVIA

A brand new lamp designed and assembled in Singapore.

Named after the the beautiful Miss Silvia, 

the driving force and woman behind the designer of Guerilla X. 

2016 S/S collection : Debut Q1 2016

Design Highlights by Guerilla X.

Designer Jonas, who used to be an environmental activist during his school days, designed this lamp to be sustainable and practical. We studied that most energy saving bulbs which suppose to have long lifespan fails before it reaches its intended claim of "up to 10,000 hours" The failure is mostly due to trapped heat when installed into a lamp. Now to prolong the lifespan of these bulbs, we added vents to our design so that heat generated from bulbs will quickly escape. These cut-out vents are right on the top of the shade as scientifically, hot air rises and its as discreetly as possible, not to complicated our exterior's simplicity.

Apart from prolonging the lifespan of bulbs, we also widen the vents are to provide some ambient lighting towards the ceiling. We notice too many metal lampshades only directing light downwards which often darken the ceiling making the space seems smaller. These top vents illuminate the holder and ceiling softly while improving lighting efficiency.
